Making It Easier For Doctors To Go Into Public Service

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) not only makes current and future careers in medicine more accessible students and professionals nationwide, but also creates incentives for them to serve their communities — such as providing care to patients in underserved areas.

Unfortunately, members of Congress and the current administration have considered phasing out the program, which would negatively impact opportunities for aspiring doctors and researchers. The AAMC Action community is working to protect PSLF — to make it easier, not harder, for doctors to go into public service.
