Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the AAMC Action community have been an integral part of addressing the needs of patients and communities now, and preventing similar events from happening in the future. During this time, doctors, residents, researchers, and all members of this community have worked to develop new treatments, diagnostics, and vaccines and made a commitment to not stop fighting until they have cared for every patient who needs them. To support these efforts, the AAMC created a COVID-19 Resource Hub, consolidating expert guidance on clinical care, research, advocacy, and more, and later released comprehensive guidance in its Road Map to Reset the Nation’s Approach to the Pandemic. Concurrently, the AAMC Action community is mobilizing around the second COVID-19 stimulus package, having sent almost 33,000 letters to Congress so far to hold lawmakers accountable for prioritizing student loan forgiveness for health care workers.
